Family Trees in the Current Database

Section 2.5

Last update: 3/4/'04

Most of the people in this database are descendants of Heinrich Wampfler of Zwischenfluh in the valley of Diemtigen of Switzerland (Bern Canton). This large family tree is broken up into several sections to make the size of data files more managable. Each of the trees below, begins with an individual who is either related to one in another of these trees or, in a few cases, begins with an individual where we do not have futher information on their ancestors.
a. The Heinrich WAMPFLER tree. The earliest Wampfler's in the Database, a tree (ID [he]) rooted at the patriarch, Heinrich WAMPFLER of Zwishenfluh, Switzerland. Included in this tree are the 1741 & 1747 immigrant families (see items b through d) who migrated to colonial America from Alsace and the ancestors of the 1888 immigrant Jacob WAMPFLER (item e).

b. The Hans George WAMPFLER tree. This tree (ID [hg]) is rooted in Hans George [he1-8] who immigrated to America in 1741 with his parents (Hans Peter & Anna Veronica WAMPFLER). The descendants of this line spell the surname WAMPLER.

c. The Hans Michael WAMPFLER tree. This tree (ID [hm]) is rooted in Hans Michael [he1-3] who immigrated to colonial America in 1741 with his parents (Hans Peter & Anna Veronica WAMPFLER). The descendants of this line spell the surname WAMPLER.

d. The Hans Peter WAMPFLER, Jr. tree. This tree (ID [hp]) is rooted in Hans Peter, Jr. [he1-2] who immigrated to colonial America in 1741 with his parents (Hans Peter & Anna Veronica WAMPFLER). The descendants of this line spell the surname WAMPLER.

e. The Johann Christian WAMPFLER tree. This tree (ID [jc])is rooted in the 1747 immigrants and their descendants. Johann Christian [he0-8] was a brother of Hans Peter Sr., father of the three sons that are patriarchs of trees b, c and d. The descendants of this line spell the surname WAMPLER.

f. The ancestors and descendants of Jacob WAMPFLER. This small tree (ID [ja]) links a 1888 American immigrant from Switzerland with Christian [he0-6], a cousin of Hans Peter Sr and Johann Christian. The American descendants of this line have retained the original WAMPFLER spelling.

g. The potential ancesstors and descendants of Daniel WAMPLER (1770). Daniel of Somerset & Armstrong Co.'s PA may be a son of Hans Peter Jr. (see item d above) or a descendant of an undocumented earlier immigrant to colonial America named Nathaniel. This small tree (ID [na]) has generations numbers that would be different by -1 if the lineage from Hans Peter Jr. were correct. The descendants of Daniel ([hp2-6] or [na3-1]) use the WAMPLER spelling.

h. Miscellanious partial trees. These trees (ID [mc]) are not as yet connected to the others given here.
